Terms of use
Last updated: 31 October 2026.
These terms apply to your use of belconlawblog.com. By using the site you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Purpose of the site
BelConLawBlog publishes academic analysis and commentary on Belgian and comparative constitutional law. The content is for information and scholarly discussion only.
No legal advice
Nothing on this site is legal advice, and reading it does not create a lawyer–client relationship. Articles reflect the law and the sources available on their date of publication and may not cover later developments. For advice on a specific situation, consult a lawyer.
Authorship and opinions
Articles are the work of their named authors or of the editorial team and express their views, not those of any institution with which they are affiliated. Translations are provided for accessibility; where an article exists in two languages, the original-language version prevails.
Copyright and quotation
Unless stated otherwise, the texts on this site are protected by copyright and belong to their authors or to BelConLawBlog. You may quote short passages for purposes of criticism, review, teaching or research, with a clear reference to the author, title and URL, as allowed by the Belgian Code of Economic Law. Any other reproduction, in particular republication of full articles, requires our prior written permission. Photographs from Wikimedia Commons are used under the licences stated in their captions, which govern their reuse. Official texts such as judgments and statutes are not protected by copyright.
Contributions
By submitting a text for publication, you confirm that it is your own work and that it does not infringe the rights of others. If we publish it, you grant BelConLawBlog a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish, translate, edit for style and keep it online in the archive, while you keep your copyright. We may decline or edit contributions at our discretion.
Accuracy and availability
We take care to verify facts against primary sources, and we correct errors when we learn of them (see Contact). We cannot, however, guarantee that the content is complete, accurate or up to date, or that the site will always be available or free of errors.
Links to other sites
We link to external websites, mostly official sources, for your convenience. We have no control over them and are not responsible for their content or practices.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, BelConLawBlog and its authors are not liable for any damage resulting from the use of the site or from reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, such as liability for intentional misconduct.
Privacy
Our privacy policy and cookie policy explain how we handle personal data.
Changes and applicable law
We may amend these terms; the version on this page applies from its date. These terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes fall within the jurisdiction of the competent Belgian courts, without prejudice to mandatory rules that protect consumers. Questions: info@belconlawblog.com.
