Cookie policy

Last updated: 31 October 2026.

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way. Under the ePrivacy Directive and the Belgian rules implementing it, a site may store or read information on your device without your consent only if this is strictly necessary for a service you asked for; everything else requires your prior, freely given consent.

What this site uses

BelConLawBlog sets no cookies and uses no advertising, social media or tracking technologies. It uses a single strictly necessary item:

NameTypePurposeDuration
blc-consentLocal storage (first party)Remembers your choice in the cookie banner so that we do not ask again on every page.6 months, after which we ask again; or until you clear your browser data

Optional categories

The cookie banner lets you accept or refuse optional audience measurement (statistics). No such tool is active at present. If we introduce one, it will only run for visitors who have accepted it, and we will list it here first. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and refusing has no effect on your access to the site.

Changing your choice

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. You can also delete stored data through your browser settings.

Third parties

Fonts and images are served from our own domain. The site embeds no third-party content, so no third party can set cookies through it. External sites we link to have their own cookie policies.
